Protecting the privacy and confidentiality of information about our clients is very important to Bridges. Accordingly, we strive to comply with each of the following practices in everything we do:
- We do not sell, rent, lease or otherwise disclose personal information of our clients for purposes unrelated to our services.
- We expect our employees to respect the personal information of our clients. Bridges has policies and practices in place to help ensure that our employees carry out these practices and otherwise protect personal information about our clients. Employees are subject to discipline for violation of these policies.
Collection of Information
As part of Bridges’ normal operating procedures, Bridges and our staff acting on our behalf, need to obtain information to determine an individual’s eligibility for the programs and services we administer, including:

Our staff will make disclosures of our clients’ information and only while acting on Bridges behalf and, furthermore, will make such disclosures only as Bridges itself is permitted to make.
Neither Bridges nor our staff will use or share with other parties information about Bridges clients for any purpose other than the performance of care by Bridges or to which the client consents.
Neither Bridges nor our staff will further disclose any nonpublic personal information about a former client of Bridges other than as may be required or permitted by law.
Confidentiality and Security
Bridges and our staff will safeguard, according to strict standards of security and confidentiality, any information we collect, receive or maintain about Bridges clients. Bridges maintains administrative, technical and physical safeguards to ensure the security and confidentiality of our client information and records, to protect against anticipated threats or hazards to such records, and to protect against unauthorized access to or use of such information or records.
Internally, Bridges limits access to our client information to only those employees who need access to the information to perform their job duties. Employees who misuse information are subject to disciplinary actions. Externally, we do not disclose client information to any third parties unless we have previously informed the client of the disclosure, have been authorized to do so by the client, or are required or permitted to make the disclosure by law or by our regulators.
Notice of Information Practices
Information practices include the following: Bridges may obtain information about you and any other persons applying for our services. Some of this information will come from you and some may come from other sources. That information and any other subsequent information collected by Bridges may in some circumstances be disclosed to third parties without your specific consent. Clients have the right to receive the specific reason(s) for an adverse decision for services in writing. If you wish to have a more detailed explanation of our information practices, please submit a written request to Bridges.
DONOR PRIVACY POLICY
It is the policy of Bridges to Housing Stability (Bridges) that solicitations for funds or in-kind support are free from undue influence or excessive pressure, and are respectful of the needs and interests of the donor or potential donor.
All donors have these rights:
- To be informed of Bridges’ mission, of Bridges’ intents to use donated resources, and of its capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purposes.
- To be informed of the identity of those serving on Bridges’ Board of Directors, and to expect the board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.
- To be assured their gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.
- To receive prompt and appropriate acknowledgement and recognition in a format that documents tax deductible donations.
- To expect that all relationships with individuals representing Bridges will be professional in nature.
- To feel free to ask questions when making a donation and to receive prompt, truthful, and forthright answers.
- To be assured that information about their donations is handled with respect and with confidentiality as follows:
- Donors’ information is not shared, sold, or borrowed.
- Donors are given multiple opportunities to indicate communication preferences. Yes/no to e-news, publicizing gifts, electing anonymity.
- Donor information is shared internally on a need to know basis and is not shared externally.
- All gifts received are stored securely.
- Out of use donor reports are shredded.
- Access to the database is controlled with passwords and timed lock-outs.
Bridges to Housing Stability, Inc. (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates a mobile messaging program (the “Program”) subject to these Mobile Messaging Terms and Conditions (these “Mobile Messaging Terms”). The Program and our collection and use of your personal information is also subject to our Privacy Policies above. By enrolling, signing up, or otherwise agreeing to participate in the Program, you accept and agree to these Mobile Messaging Terms and our Privacy Policy.
- Program Description: We may send transactional mobile messages in various formats through the Program. Transactional messages relate to an existing or ongoing transaction and may include order notifications and updates, appointment reminders, and other transaction-related information. Message frequency will vary. You agree that we may send you messages regarding the foregoing topics. We do not charge for mobile messages sent through the Program, but you are responsible for any message and data rates imposed by your mobile provider, as standard data and message rates may apply for short message service and multimedia message alerts.
- User Opt-In: By providing your mobile phone number to us, you are voluntarily opting in to the Program and you agree to receive recurring mobile messages from us at the mobile phone number associated with your opt-in, even if such number is registered on any state or federal “Do Not Call” list. You agree that any mobile phone number you provide to us is a valid mobile phone number of which you are the owner or authorized user. If you change your mobile phone number or are no longer the owner or authorized user of the mobile phone number, you agree to promptly notify us at info@bridges2hs.org or email your case manager directly. Your participation in the Program does not require that you make any purchase from us, and your participation in the Program is completely voluntary.
- User Opt-Out and Support: You may opt out of the Program at any time. If you wish to opt out of the Program and stop receiving mobile messages from us, or you no longer agree to these Mobile Messaging Terms, reply STOP to the mobile number the message is sent from. You may continue to receive text messages for a short period while we process your request, and you may receive a one-time opt-out confirmation message. You understand and agree that the foregoing is the only reasonable method of opting out. If you wish to rejoin the Program, use the same method to sign up as you did the first time, and we will start sending messages to you again. For support, reply HELP to any mobile message from us and a member of our staff will contact you directly on the number you messaged us from; however, you may reach out customer support department at any time at info@bridges2hs.org or 410-312-5760.
Our mobile messaging platform may not recognize requests that modify the foregoing commands, and you agree that we and our service providers will not be liable for failing to honor requests that do not comply with the requirements in these Mobile Messaging Terms. We may also change the telephone number or short code we use to operate the Program and we will notify you of any such change. You acknowledge that any requests sent to a telephone number or short code that has been changed may not be received by us and we will not be responsible for failing to honor a request sent to a telephone number or short code that has been changed.
- Disclaimer of Warranty and Liability: The Program is offered on an “as-is” basis and may not be available in all areas, at all times, or on all mobile providers. You agree that neither we nor our service providers will be liable for any failed, delayed, or misdirected delivery of any mobile message or information sent through the Program.
- Modifications: We may modify or cancel the Program or any of its features at any time, with or without notice. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we may also modify these Mobile Messaging Terms at any time. Any such modification will take effect when it is posted to our website. You agree to review these Mobile Messaging Terms periodically to ensure that you are aware of any modifications. Your continued participation in the Program will constitute your acceptance of those modifications.
