The Housing Stability Subsidy Program provides housing subsidies to Chronically Homeless Howard County residents often with disabilities that have exhausted all the services of local homeless prevention, housing stability, rapid re-housing, and/or shelter programs available in Howard County and continue to be unable to secure affordable, stable housing. Tenants in the program receive ongoing case management and support from Bridges staff to remain stable and work toward long-term goals. Tenants also attend Bridges’ Tenant Success Certificate Program and work with Employment Specialists to gain employment and remain in their jobs.

Individuals are referred by the Service Coordinator of the Coordinated Entry System from a list of households that have been identified as being highly vulnerable and need permanent supportive housing to stay stable. They are referred to Bridges to Housing Stability for housing location and long-term case management services. Through this long-term support, these households increase their self-sufficiency indicators and receive the on-going services needed.
