Contributions from individual donors, corporations, community groups, and foundations are essential to the daily operations of Bridges to Housing Stability. Donations allow us to continue to advocate for adequate affordable housing in Howard County and deliver effective housing-related services, comprehensive case management, and support services to individuals and families in need.
All monetary donations made to Bridges are 100% tax-deductible. When purchasing event tickets, please be aware that your ticket purchase is likely not 100% tax-deductible.
If you own local rental property such as a condo or townhouse, please consider working with the Housing Connections or Bridges Alliance programs to rent to a family or individual served by Bridges.
GIFT CARD DRIVE
During the holiday season, many low-income households are faced with the choice of paying bills and providing essentials or gifts for their family. In addition to providing access to affordable housing, Bridges often provides gift cards that help fill in the gaps for our clients. These gift cards often help a household obtain groceries, gas to commute to work, winter clothing for their children, school supplies, clothing for job interviews, or typical household essentials. Donating gift cards will provide a tangible impact for low-income Howard County households working to achieve housing stability and self-sufficiency.
Bridges has created an account with ShopWithScrip so that you can donate gift cards online without having to leave your home! To purchase gift cards for Bridges' clients online, please create an account online or download the RaiseRight app to get started. When shopping online, purchase gift cards (not e-gift cards or rebates). We recommend adding a bank account for easy, low-fee online payments. COVID-19 COMMUNITY CAMPAIGN
Due to COVID-19, many of those we serve are facing financial distress. They have been laid off, suffered significant cuts in work hours, or been forced to miss work so they can stay home with their children. They have few or no assets to fall back on. Their ability to buy food and household necessities and pay rent and other bills on their own has been directly impacted during this global crisis.
Bridges launched a community appeal on March 20 to assist any of our clients affected by the pandemic. With the generous help of our supporters, the campaign has raised over $10,000 and is still accepting monetary and in-kind donations. Bridges has provided rent subsidies, food, gift cards, and cleaning supplies to over 20 households in need thus far. We continue to assess and prioritize individual client needs. Your donation will help soften the impact this pandemic has had on low-income and homeless families and individuals in Howard County.
Bridges staff members have been working from home since March but continue to provide affordable housing, comprehensive case management, and support services. We’ve rehoused 13 households in the past month and purchased two rental units. Our program staff is also advocating with clients to make sure they have filed taxes for 2018 or 2019 and have updated their address or bank account information where they receive benefit deposits so they can receive their stimulus payments.

Online donations are quick, easy, and secure. Bridges to Housing Stability’s online donations are managed through Network for Good’s safe and secure giving system. When donating online, you will have the choice to cover the 3% transaction fee to have 100% of your donation goes to Bridges. Please consider taking advantage of the service’s convenient recurring payment option by setting up a monthly, quarterly, or annual gift. Scheduling recurring donations allows you to conveniently plan and budget to increase your financial impact and provide critical support to resolve homelessness year-round. Any donor who wishes to give anonymously can do so by opting not to “Post my donation amount” or “Post my name” when donating online.

If you would like to donate to a particular program, campaign, or event, please include a memo note indicating the intention of your gift. Otherwise, your donation will be classified as unrestricted funds, which allow us to allocate them to the greatest current need. Also, please inform us if you would like to remain anonymous.
DONATION DRIVE: WELCOME HOME BASKETS/PACKAGES
Bridges is asking for the help of supporters to provide a welcome home basket to each individual and family we rehouse that may be unable to afford their basic necessities after moving into their new home. Cash or in-kind donations will help these households settle into their homes with the necessities needed for themselves and their families. A list of suggested items and online registries can be found here. Workplace Giving is a convenient and efficient way for employees to make tax-deductible charitable donations through payroll contributions at their workplace. We encourage all employed supporters of Bridges to Housing Stability to check whether their place of employment or company has a workplace giving program. Often times, employers match donations made by employees which gives employees the opportunity to maximize their philanthropic efforts.
