Shelter Diversion

Funded through a partnership between the United Way of Central Maryland and the Howard County Department of Community Resources and Services. Bridges’ Shelter Diversion program is an alternative to traditional shelters for hard to shelter families with children. Through Shelter Diversion, we quickly place families with children who lose their home into permanent housing instead of a shelter, and provide short-term comprehensive case management, rental and financial assistance, and life skills training.

HOW ARE CLIENT REFERRED?

Potential families with children are referred through the Howard County Coordinated System of Homeless Services (CSHS) partner agency case managers.  Households must be currently homeless Howard County residents with a CSHS Case Manager or Housing Advocate.

Please note that there is a limited amount of vacancy in this program. For more details, please contact  (410) 312-5760 ext 103 for more details.
